Waste organic material from a reef community is repeatedly recycled by fish in the water column and corals on the surface. Most that isn't recycled in the short term is then transported into fine sediment in regions such as lagoons or the deep fore reef.

Detailed instructions, diagrams and photographs of a controller to be used with an RO filter. Water levels are detected using float switches in the RO reservoir and saltwater reservoir (used for water changes). Depending on the state of these, the unit switches on/off solenoid valves to fill the reservoirs to desired levels.
